Joran The Princess of Snow and Blood Episode 7 Review

Joran The Princess of Snow and Blood Episode 7 Review

If you were wondering what Joran The Princess of Snow and Blood episode 7 was going to be about, all you had to do was look at the title of the episode. “A Fleeting Spring” gives you all you need to know about the story for this episode. Sawa Karasumori and Asahi get to have a brief respite before their calm is rudely interrupted. The only surprise to me was who it was that disrupted everything.

Joran The Princess of Snow and Blood Episodes 5-6 Review

How was the story in Joran The Princess of Snow and Blood Episode 7?

While the title gave away what was going to happen, episode 7 played out like any good assassin/spy story would in these circumstances. There always seems to be that moment in all movies, books, T.V. shows, etc. where the protagonist wants to just have a normal life. They may achieve that for a while until their previous life catches up with them.

That’s exactly what happens to Sawa and Asahi. Unfortunately that also means that there are going to be collateral damage. The only real big surprise is that Tsukishiro is the one that crashes the party. I would’ve bet money after episode 6 that it would’ve been Kuzuhara that ended up being the party pooper.

Joran The Princess of Snow and Blood Episode 7 - Tsukishiro and Kuzuhara

With the story following along with the title, the entire time that you watch Joran The Princess of Snow and Blood episode 7 you’re waiting for things to fall apart. It’s obvious the peace won’t last, but you sure wish it would. You can’t help but feel sorry for Sawa Karasumori.

Do you have any complaints about this episode?

There’s nothing that I can think of that really bothers me about this episode. I’m not exactly thrilled with some of the nicer characters being killed but that’s just part of the story. This entire anime is one big tragedy and I think this is the first time that I felt it. Asahi and the teacher were positive influences for Sawa. Can’t she just have some kindness in her life for an extended period of time?

What did you like about this episode?

Like I just mentioned, this is the first time where the emotion of the episode really came through. I’ve been a little bit critical of Joran The Princess of Snow and Blood because it has felt like the anime has rushed through the story. It made moments that were supposed to be impactful feel less than intentioned. That’s not the case here.

Joran The Princess of Snow and Blood Episode 7 - A transformed Tsukishiro

I really hoped that Sawa and Asahi would be able to live a quiet, peaceful life. Sawa was slowly changing from the cold assassin into a normal person. Tsukishiro just had to go and get in the way.

Is Joran The Princess of Snow and Blood Episode 7 Worth Watching?

If you’ve gotten to this part of the anime then there’s no reason why you shouldn’t watch episode 7. I actually enjoyed this one more than the last couple of episodes. Now I’m wondering just how far Sawa Karasumori will go. Tsukishiro is the immediate target but the Shogunate appears to be the ultimate bad guy for this anime. Will Kuzuhara show up to kick that part off next? I guess I’ll just have to keep watching.

Now go watch some anime!
