I just can’t seem to look away from Jujutsu Kaisen!
Every time I watch an episode of Jujutsu Kaisen I’m left with a feeling of “I wish the entire season was out so I could watch all of it now!” Jujutsu Kaisen episode 11 does the exact same thing. This anime episode had me feeling all kinds of different emotions before leaving me in suspense as Itadori shows up to stop Junpei.
Jujutsu Kaisen episode 11 gives us closure on the fight between Nanami and Mahito. It ends about how you would expect it to, Nanami demonstrates he has more power than previously shown and he uses it to escape. The Jujutsu sorcerer and curse will have to finish their fight another day.
While it is a little unsatisfying to know that there wasn’t a conclusion to their fight, we now have a rematch of Nanami vs Mahito to look forward to. Considering Nanami considers Mahito to be a curse worth exorcising as quickly as possible, it should come sooner rather than later. I’ll definitely be looking forward to the rematch!
After this, Jujutsu Kaisen episode 11 takes us to Itadori and Junpei. The two boys are quickly becoming friends. Itadori’s training with movies comes in handy as Junpei is a film enthusiast. Junpei’s mom ends up running into the boys and invites Itadori over for dinner. The three have a fun time together.
I loved watching this. Seeing Junpei receive a positive influence in his life makes you think that he’s going to get back on the right track. I also enjoyed seeing that Junpei and his mom have a good relationship. His life can’t be all depressing and painful.
Unfortunately all of that works against Junpei’s mental state after his mother is killed by a curse. One of Sukuna’s fingers finds it’s way to Junpei’s house and his mother is killed. Like all deaths from curses, the scene is not pretty.
Mahito is there shortly thereafter to influence Junpei into taking action. With his mother murdered, gone are the thoughts that were influenced by Itadori. All Junpei wants now is to get revenge and who could blame him? Now the main bully at Junpei’s school is about to face his wrath.
Like any good story that wants you to come back later to find out a resolution, the anime episode ends in a cliffhanger. Itadori’s on the scene but we don’t know what’s going to happen. Will Junpei kill the bully? Will he also kill the overweight teacher? Will Itadori convince him that he needs to stop before all of this? That’s all left up in the air.
Is Jujutsu Kaiseni Episode 11 Worth Watching?
Yes. Jujutsu Kaisen episode 11 is worth watching. Where I think this anime is able to succeed over other anime is in its ability to change gears in its storytelling. There’s a good blend of humor, action and horror elements throughout each episode. This episode highlights that ability really well.
Junpei’s character is easy to understand. He’s bullied at school so he’s susceptible to bad influences. Given the right circumstances, he seems to be just a normal kid who likes movies. Watching him gain a friend in Itadori gives us hope that he won’t walk down the path of a killer. This hope starts to fade away once we see one of Sukuna’s fingers.
All of the good feelings melt away when we realize that Junpei is being targeted for further pain. One of the few rays of light in his life, his mother, is taken away. All that hope is gone. It’s been replaced with dread at what’s coming next. It’s not an easy step to take but Jujutsu Kaisen is able to pull it off. With that said, this anime really is just fun to watch. Episode 11 is no different.
Now go watch some anime!
