Now I want to skip ahead to the exchange event with Kyoto Prefectural Jujutsu High!
The principle of Kyoto Prefectural Jujutsu High comes to visit Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High. With him comes two of his students who will be participating in the exchange event. The two students from Kyoto, Toudou and Mai, come across Fushiguro and Nobara as they’re running errands for the second years.
The Kyoto students are there specifically to cause trouble. Mai tries to get under the skin of Fushiguro whole Toudou just wants to fight. Being a jujutsu sorcerer, which means that they’re strange to begin with, Toudou threatens to beat Fushiguro half to death if his taste in women is boring. Of course, Toudou finds this to be the case and the two start fighting.
Nobara goes to step in when Mai stops her. The two have a tense exchange of words with Nobara being less than respectful. Mai pulls a gun and threatens Nobara.
Despite some punches thrown and shots fired, no one is seriously injured. Toudou and Mai leave as Toudou has tickets to get a hand shake with a popular idol who’s doing an event in Tokyo. We’re left wanting to see more as neither feud is over.
Even more interesting is the conversation between the Kyoto Prefectural Jujutsu High principal, Yoshinobu Gakuganji, and Satoru Gojo. Satoru is blunt and to the point. He doesn’t appreciate the group of conservative leaders in the Jujutsu Sorcery world sending his students on the mission with the special-grade curse. He also warns him that the increased flow of power that Gakuganji is fighting is continuing to flow. Satoru says that he won’t be fighting alone, an obvious threat.
And I thought politics here were bad. Wouldn’t it make sense for a small group like the Jujutsu Sorcerers to want to actually work together to eliminate curses? The don’t need to get caught up in political squabbles that could reduce their numbers.
If the point of this anime episode is to draw the battle lines in upcoming events then it sure did its job. Jujutsu Kaisen episode 8 clearly demonstrated to us that both Jujutsu High Schools don’t really care for each other. I’m sure the exchange event will be exciting to watch. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were some underhanded attempts to kill some of the students involved.
I think Satoru Gojo might be one of my favorite new characters in all of anime. Even when talking to one of his main adversaries in the Jujutsu world he’s able to maintain his calm and cool demeanor. Add to that he has a major mischievous side and you can’t help but find him entertaining. It also helps that he’s insanely strong and can back up all of his talk.
There was a time-skip at the end of the episode. One month has gone by, which means we should see some progress from Itadori when he investigates his next case. Three high school boys were terribly deformed while watching a movie at a theater. The curse responsible was the one lounging on the beach in the previous episode. There is also another boy introduced who has the ability to see curses. It seems like the next episode will be filled with action!
Is Jujutsu Kaisen Episode 8 Worth Watching?
Yes. Jujutsu Kaisen episode 8 is worth watching. Better yet, Jujutsu Kaisen episode 8 makes me want to see more from this anime! I wish the entire season was out so I could just binge watch it! It has a good mix of action, danger, drama and humor. I like what we’re seeing so far from this anime and I hope it keeps up!
Now go watch some anime!
