That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Episode 26 Review

I want to go live in Tempest. It looks like it’d be a good place to settle down.

It also looks like Rimuru Tempest’s harem is about to grow. The fighting turns out to just be a test, had Rimuru and his subordinates been weak then the delegation from Eurazania would’ve cut off negotiations right there. With the fighting over, talks can begin in earnest and the two beast masters that were sent by Demon Lord Carrion seem to have taken a liking to Rimuru.

It does help that Rimuru was able to show off just how powerful he is after the fight ended. At the climax of her fight with Suphia, Shion was charging up a maximum magic bullet. At this point the fight was stopped by the other beast master in attendance. The only problem was that Shion couldn’t stop charging her attack.

The now super-sized maximum magic bullet was a real danger to everyone. Unconcerned, Rimuru told Shion to send it his way and he easily consumed it using his Glutton ability. It’s one of those moments in anime where an overpowered character gets to show off a little. Rimuru certainly earned the respect of everyone there after this show of strength.

From here on out the episode felt like most other That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime episodes, which is not a bad thing. In fact, I watched this thinking “It would be great to know someone like Rimuru Tempest.” Rimuru Tempest has built a fledgling nation that thrives on using it’s population’s skills in the best possible way. Everyone in the town loves Rimuru, and he loves them back. Wouldn’t that be a great nation to live in?

Rimuru’s really come into his own as a leader. The brief time we saw him as a human showed us that he was a capable manager, but nothing indicated that he was capable of leading a nation. He’s managed to take his experience in middle management and turn it into the skill set needed to build a country. It’s pretty impressive when you think about it.

Of course this wouldn’t be a good anime if there wasn’t some kind of trouble on the horizon. Demon Lord Clayman has taken an interest in Rimuru. He appears to be willing to pull the dirtiest tricks to get his way. His subordinate, Myulan, is following Clayman’s orders because the Demon Lord has her heart. Literally, he has her heart and she’s working for him in order to get it back.
