I can’t help but smile every time I watch an episode of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime and episode 27 is no exception.
There’s a lighthearted nature that permeates this anime. Maybe it comes from Rimuru’s kind and goodhearted nature, but That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is infected with it. Nothing ever seems to bring down the mood. Even the sad moments can’t seem to dim the light this anime shines for very long.
This episode focuses on Rimuru’s trip to the Armed nation of Dwargon. Dwargon and Tempest are going to official state their intention for good relations. Those familiar with That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime will recognize Dwargon and it’s king, Gazel, from season 1. It appears that Gazel and Rimuru are forming a teacher/student relationship as the more experienced Gazel offers advice to the new leader Rimuru.
Most of the anime episode is focused on this trip. Rimuru discusses politics with Gazel. The two appear at the ceremony were Rimuru gives his speech. And most importantly of all, Rimuru and the goblins head over to the restaurant staffed by the beautiful elvish girls. Amazingly, Gobta made it out before bleeding out.
For a pretty straightforward episode, I’m happy that there were a few hints at future problems in the world of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. Otherwise I think this anime would start to get a little boring. I like to watch Rimuru’s nation building. It reminds me of playing games like SimCity or Civilization. There’s a sense of relaxation and accomplishment when plans come together and something larger is built. But that sense of accomplishment can only last for so long until things start to get stale.
In this case, we already know that the demon lord Clayman is starting to move against Tempest. His lieutenant, Myulan, has now joined the ranks of Youm’s party. We know she’s on a mission but are not quite sure what the specifics of it are yet. I’m sure it will cause problems for both Rimuru and Youm.
There’s also the new potential threat of the kingdom of Falmuth. Falmuth is one of the stronger nations in the area and is sure to take notice of Tempest’s rise. My guess is that Falmuth is not going to take too kindly to Tempest’s increasing influence in the region and will take steps to assert their power.
Is That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Episode 27 Worth Watching?
Yes. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime episode 27 is worth watching. If it weren’t for these little tidbits of future issues, I think this anime episode would’ve been lackluster and almost worth skipping. If you’re a fan of the elvish girls then you’d probably still find this episode worth while. Overall I think I’d rank this one as a solid episode. There’s nothing particularly spectacular but it does a good job at getting us to the next point in the story. It does it’s job.
Now go watch some anime!
