Part of me is excited that Amy Kiriwo is back, the other part wishes that Iruma had a different bad guy to fight. I guess they are polar opposites so the eventual showdown between the two will be entertaining to watch. I almost thought it was going to happen at the end of Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun Season 2 Episode 18. Kiriwo would’ve shown himself had it not been for Baal’s phone call.
Where can I watch Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun Season 2 Episode 18?
I watch this anime over at Crunchyroll. It airs every Saturday. Typically, I’ll put it on after watching and reviewing the latest My Hero Academia episode. It’s a good way to start the day if you ask me. I find them to both be entertaining anime in their own ways.
Since Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun is available over at Crunchyroll, you can also find it at VRV. They get a good bit of their content via Crunchyroll and I’m pleased to say that even includes new episodes. For other sites that’s not exactly the case. My only problem with VRV is that I can’t see any justifiable reason to subscribe to another anime site. I’m not made of money after all.
Those are your only two options if you want to see Iruma stare down a monster magical beast and try to absorb its mana. If you don’t have a subscription to either site, you can watch season 2 episode 18 free next week over at Crunchyroll. You’ll just have to sit through commercials. It’s up to you!
How was the story in Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun season 2 episode 18?
If you were waiting to see the finale to the fight with the magical beasts, you don’t have to wait long. Iruma and Ali jump right in to take care of business. What happens is pretty much what you’d expect. Iruma, via the Gluttonous Feeder Ring, consume all of the mana the magical beast was about to unleash. It’s a pretty standard anime affair.
What I mean by that is the way in which Iruma and Ali take down the rampaging beast is both awesome and ridiculous. Me saying how it happens here won’t give it justice. You really have to see it to get the full effect. Just for a little though, Iruma has to use his imagination for Ali to gain the ability to do what he needs to do. If I know anything about anime it’s that character’s imaginations can be a wild place.
What happened after the battle was over?
Most of Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun Season 2 Episode 18 was spent dealing with the fallout of the attack on Walter Park. Ronove Romiere’s dad, Roosevelt, shows up and he’s just as ridiculous as his son. He’s also incredibly appreciative to Iruma and friends for saving his park from being completely demolished. He’s exactly how I’d picture him to be considering his son.
The part I did not expect, but was glad it was positioned this way, was Sullivan’s relationship with Roosevelt. They were two peas in a pod. It’s almost like there’s two of the same character. They even went on T.V. together and announced that Iruma and friends were the ones responsible for saving the park. It was all pretty funny.
Was the Misfit Class able to recover after their excitement?
This was probably the highlight of the episode. Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun, at its heart, is an anime about high schoolers. They may be demons in the netherworld, but they’re still only teenagers navigating their relationships. After an experience like the one they just had, the Misfit Class has done nothing but grown closer.
The group that was the most entertaining to watch was Kalego’s group. It was the one with all of the guys in it. At one point, Kalego and Balaam walk into Kalego’s room only to find Jazz and the others reminiscing while eating snacks on their teacher’s bed. Kalego was obviously incensed while his students did their best to loot his room. It’s all just a bunch of fun.
That’s the atmosphere for most of the episode. It’s full of camaraderie and fun. Everyone has grown closer because of their experience. Iruma and Ameri even come close to having their first date. But don’t worry, they’ve scheduled that for later.
What did Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun season 2 episode 18 get right?
From start to finish, I think Demon School got most of the episode right. That even includes what happened with Amy Kiriwo and his escape. There haven’t been a lot of truly evil characters in this anime, but he’s definitely one of them. How cruel do you have to be to pull the stunt that he did with his fellow inmates? If you’re wondering what it was, just go watch the episode already.
As good as Iruma and his friends are, Kiriwo is just as bad. He’s twisted, cruel, evil and only wants to see others suffer. When you think of a demon, you think of Kiriwo and his actions. It’s a good thing that he doesn’t have a lot of mana or he’d be a big problem. He causes enough chaos just from the plans he puts together.
The scene on top of the hotel between Iruma and Ameri was another part of Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun Season 2 Episode 18 that was done well. Like many Shonen anime, Iruma has managed to cultivate a harem. He doesn’t know it, but it’s still there. Ameri is probably the most influential member of that harem. After watching this, it looks like Ameri might just break out of the pack and become the first real love interest for Iruma.
The little bit of humor provided by Ameri thinking about a moment in First Love Memories fits in quite well with her chance to be alone with Iruma. They actually have the chance to talk in a more open and serious way than normal. Iruma tells Ameri about what his ambition is and what he seeks to accomplish. It makes me want to see the two of them end up together. They at least get their first date set up as a result.
What did Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun Season 2 Episode 18 get wrong?
Unfortunately, the scene on the roof is also the culprit in the only note I wrote down for this section. It has to do with Ameri’s lightning fast wardrobe change. The question I have to ask about this is “How?”
When Ameri first step out onto the roof, she’s dressed in the same clothes that she had been wearing the last several episodes. After having her daydream about the romantic moment from First Love Memories, Ameri all of a sudden pops up in a completely different outfit. It’s like she just vanished, changed and then reappeared. I’m not buying it.
Before you argue with me about “Well the dress was given to her by Roosevelt as a thank you!” just know that I’m not arguing the point about where the dress came from. I fully accept that Ameri’s choice of wardrobe was a gift from the elder Ronove. What makes no sense is where and how it got on Ameri’s body. It just doesn’t fit right here.
There’s no way Ameri would’ve changed on the roof, right in front of Iruma. That’s not even taking into account that the dress wasn’t even shown until Ameri had it on. She wasn’t lugging it around the whole time. It feels like this was done just to enhance the narrative that this was a romantic moment between Iruma and Ameri. Because of that, Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun Season 2 Episode 18 created a huge hole in the plot.
Is Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun Season 2 Episode 18 worth watching?
If you’re a fan of this anime then yes, Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun Season 2 Episode 18 is worth watching. Personally, I really enjoy it even though there’s nothing really surprising that goes on. The interpersonal relationships are done well, and that keeps me interested in coming back. I’m happy for Iruma that he’s found his place in the netherworld and that he’s got a good group of friends around him. Now he just has to deal with his rival.
Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun Season 2 Episode 19 preview
With Sullivan and Roosevelt going on T.V. and announcing to the netherworld that Iruma and his friends saved Walter Park, it’s a madhouse. The press is breaking down the doors trying to get interviews with all of them. Asmodeus asserts that their homes will most likely be under siege by interested news reporters, which leads Clara to invite everyone to her house. That’s what episode 19 is going to be. A trip to Clara’s house!
With the setting in place, we can expect to see tons of hijinks and ridiculous behavior. Clara, her mom and most of her siblings have the same personality after all. Aside from the obvious outlandish behavior that’s coming our way, it also appears from the preview that there will be monsters to fight.
I’m going to guess that the Valac family sees the dangers in the woods around them as more of a playground obstacle. Clara did swing off one of the tails of the multi-tailed rat magical beast. Why would any other monster be any different? I’m sure all of this will stress out Asmodeus while Iruma will be accommodating and kind. We’ll just have to wait and see!
Now go watch some anime!
