Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun season 2 episode 8 cements my thoughts on this season of the anime. I like it more than I did season 1. Ali’s spell, the one that makes it look like Iruma is in his evil cycle, is the best thing to happen to Iruma. It also adds an interesting dynamic to an anime that was starting to get a little stale.
How do you like what went on in episode 8?
Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun season 2 episode 8 is a good mix between evil Iruma and good Iruma. By that I mean that the results of the episode are a good mix of the two. Evil Iruma managed to get his classmates to gather signatures from 36 of the teachers in three days. That was no small feat considering some of the teachers hated members of the Misfit Class.
The rest of the signatures come as a result of all of the good will that had been built up from good Iruma. Iruma’s inability to not help out finally pays off when all of non-teaching faculty comes through. All of it comes together to thwart Kalego’s plan and allow the class access to Royal One.
As you’d expect, Iruma comes back to his senses after everything is over with and promptly apologizes to everyone for his behavior. It’s a nice way to end things. My biggest question now is where things are going to go from here? Now that Iruma is back to his normal self what’s going to come up next?
What did Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun season 2 episode 8 get right?
The moment in Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun season 2 episode 8 that sticks in my mind the most was when Iruma sat on the demon king’s throne. In all fairness, the episode made a big deal about it. Iruma intentionally sought out that chair and sat confidently in it. In doing so, you really got the feeling that he was destined to claim the title of demon king.
It was also a moment that helped explain some of the images we saw from season 1. There were plenty of not so subtle hints that Iruma would be in this exact position. I always assumed that Iruma was destined to rule the netherworld because of these images. Instead, it appears like it was just a bit of foreshadowing. It was fun to connect the dots here in Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun season 2 episode 8.
I can’t really single out any other specific moment that was really done right. Overall, the episode was enjoyable to watch. It’s easy to lose yourself in this anime and that’s exactly what I did.
What did episode 8 get wrong?
This will be a short section as I can’t really say that something stood out as particularly off. Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun season 2 episode 8 was a solid anime episode without any glaring weakness. I’ve got no complaints.
Is Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun season 2 episode 8 worth watching?
I think so. If you watch this episode as a stand alone, without any other context, it won’t have the same impact. If you are familiar with the world of Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun then you’ll get the full impact of what’s going on in season 2 episode 8.
Personally, I hope we get to see evil Iruma a little bit more. His arrival in season 2 really spiced things up. It was a fresh way to look at one of my new favorite anime characters!
Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun season 2 episode 9 preview
Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun episode 9 is going to be all about studying. From the looks of things, exams are coming up. As with any high school class, the Misfit Class is woefully unprepared for their exams. My guess is that Kalego is also out for blood considering he was just outdone by his students.
We also get a hint that Ameri is going to try and get a little closer to Iruma, whatever that means. Basically, season 2 episode 9 is going to be a typical high school anime episode. The only difference here is that the setting is in the netherworld. It should be interesting enough.
Now go watch some anime!
