That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime episode 37 kicks off the second part of season 2 of this anime. I guess you could say that really happened last week with the recap episode. Considering it was just a full recap episode though I just completely disregard it. Rimuru and company are back!
Where can I watch That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime episode 37?
I watch over at Crunchyroll. It looks like they might be the ones who have the rights on the premiering episodes. I checked Funimation and they have the second season but only up until episode 36. As of the time of me writing this, episode 37 is nowhere to be found. My guess is that it’s just a matter of time before it’s on Funimation’s site as well.
I found a few other places that had That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, like VRV, but the video streams there for this anime are powered by Crunchyroll. In my view, why not just go to the source? If you want to see the new episodes of this anime, go watch at Crunchyroll.
What did you think of the story in episode 37?
In the first part of season 2, there was a moment where Rimuru sat at the head of the table and was told how wonderful he was by all of his subordinates. Rimuru tried to blame himself for what happened in Tempest, but the monsters that adore him would have none of it. The start of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime episode 37 felt a lot like that.
After Veldora Tempest’s reintroduction to the monsters that he once governed, Rimuru holds a meeting to discuss his plans. Demon Lord Clayman is going to pay for the schemes that he perpetrated on the city-state of Tempest. If I didn’t know better, I’d say that we went back in time.
That’s not a good thing, by the way. Some of my least favorite moments of the previous part of season 2 were during the round table discussion that turned into a Rimuru fluff meeting. We don’t need another one here. I understand that there needs to be some sort of plan going forward, but that can be done in a different way.
Did things get better?
Thankfully the story picked up. Rimuru started talking about how to move forward in their plans to take down Demon Lord Clayman and save Demon Lord Carrion. During this conversation, Dwarf King Gazel Dwargo shows up. Closely behind is Elalude, one of the higher ups from the Sorcerous Dynasty of Thalion.
All of these arrivals just heighten the suspense of what’s going to come later. Rimuru could potentially have some pretty powerful allies in his quest for revenge against Clayman. Unfortunately, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime episode 37 doesn’t give us any hint how everything is going to work out.
What did That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime episode 37 get right?
First off, I have to admit that I got a kick out of Veldora doing his best impersonation of Goku at the beginning of the episode. Veldora spent a lot of time in Rimuru’s memories and became acquainted with manga to the point where it now influences his behavior. If this continues, Veldora should become a pretty funny caricature of anime tropes.
It was also fun to watch Veldora get reintroduced to the monsters of Tempest. They didn’t get it at first, but once Treyni arrived everyone finally got the picture. With Veldora now a part of the anime, it’ll be interesting to see how he fits in. He appears to be on par with Milim for the moment. That means he’s potentially a disaster waiting to happen.
On a more serious note…
Besides Veldora’s part in episode 37, I did enjoy watching several powerful leaders show up to meet Rimuru for the first time. The first thing that popped into my head was “How do they already know that a new Demon Lord has been born?” You could explain it away with Elalude, since he’s a magician, but with Dwargo? I’m not so sure.
Their assembly here in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime episode 37 just means that bigger things are coming. The previous fight with the Kingdom of Falmuth was just a warmup apparently. Now I just want to get to the fight with Clayman! That should provide more entertainment then what went on in the first part of season 2.
What did episode 37 get wrong?
Besides what I’ve already mentioned about the meeting Rimuru had with his subordinates, not too much. I won’t rehash my thoughts again here. You can go back up in the review and read them again if you want.
I think That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime episode 37 did a pretty good job at avoiding any major issues. It’s a satisfactory reintroduction to season 2.
Is That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime episode 37 worth watching?
For fans of the series, I’d say yes. Don’t come to episode 37 expecting some serious action or anything. This anime episode is meant to bring us back to what’s going on with Rimuru and his band of monsters who are shaking up the order of the world. For what it is, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime episode 37 is perfectly fine.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime episode 38 preview
Unfortunately this anime is not that great at giving us a preview of the next episode. The only clue we get at what’s coming up in episode 38 is the announcement that the title will be “A Meeting of Humans and Monsters.” As you can probably figure out from there, episode 38 will be mainly comprised of a strategic meeting.
With all of the powerful figures that just arrived to meet Rimuru, this is to be expected. How this will go is the wild card. Will everyone back Rimur’s plan to take down Demon Lord Clayman or will there be some objections? Are the visitors going to only be in it if they can get something out of the victory? There’s no way to tell at this point. We just have to wait until That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime episode 38 airs.
Now go watch some anime!
